Architecture students and research courses: are they aligned? Students’ attitude towards research courses

Abstract Research courses are part of many higher education curricula. However, students’ attitudes towards statistics and research tend to be negative. One way measure attitude is with the Revised-Attitudes Towards scale (R-ATR). The current study examined: (1) internal reliability R-ATR, (2) Dutch second-year architecture students courses, (3) whether related age gender. It was found that R-ATR has good reasonably favorable. Students generally acknowledge usefulness do not feel anxious, but find them stressful difficult some extent enjoy them. Further analyses showed three types students: relaxed students, virtuous worried who each require a different approach improving their courses. No relationship emerged between or gender, female considered somewhat more useful. Providing research-friendly, enjoyable, supportive environment might improve
